2003 Emmy Nominations

By Shawn McKenzie 07/17/2003

The Emmy nominations have been announced, and there are NO SURPRISES!  Some may say Tony Shalhoub from “Monk” is a surprise, but not me, since he won the Golden Globe.  I'm kind of sad that this is the last year that “Buffy the Vampire Slayer” will be passed over for major nominations (it got one nom this year for visual effects.)  Also, I need to know...why are FX and USA considered a bigger networks than the WB?  My new “Buffy” is going to be “The Gilmore Girls,” because it didn't get any nominations (The WB got got two technical nominations, neither for our favorite gals from Stars Hollow.)  Oh well...we can tune into the big show on September 21st on FOX.  Here are the major nominations with my predictions.  Names in blue are my predictions for what will win.  The names with a * after it are my choices for the nominee that should win if I personally chose the winners myself!  Update 09/21/2003:  Names that are in the larger character size are the winners.  Out of 13 categories mentioned below, I got 6 right.
