2006 February Sweeps February 23 Listings (Show titles in the larger size are the shows I recommend; reruns are not listed; all times are in the Mountain Time Zone) 7 PM: Dancing with the Stars 2 (ABC; ends at 9 PM)-Two-hour episode. Eighth-round competition sets the stage for Sunday's finale. Survivor: Panama (CBS; ends at 8 PM)-In a surprising change of events, a banished castaway thrives on Exile Island while the rest of their tribe struggles for food and fire back at camp. The excitement over winning a Reward Challenge immediately causes a stir within the tribe when one survivor contaminates their prized possession. Constant bickering and shouting matches between tribe members leaves one castaway regretting their alliance with, what they consider, a bunch of lunatics. After the last Tribal Council, one castaway begins to worry they too may be in danger. Will their strong efforts and competitive nature be enough to keep them in the game? The fourth member is voted out of the tribe. I couldn't believe that Shane actually got mad about anyone using his Thinking Seat. Dude has a major nicotine withdrawal problems! That immunity challenge last week was brutal. I'm surprised that no one broke a bone. I think that if I went on this show now, I'd be afraid for my life. XX Olympic Winter Games (NBC; ends at 11 PM)-Figure skating: ladies free skate final; freestyle skiing: men's aerials final; snowboarding: women's parallel giant slalom final. American Idol 5 (FOX; ends at 8 PM)-One-hour results show. The 24 semifinalists performed for America this week, and the viewers have determined their fate. Tonight, four contestants...two males and two females...will go home, leaving 20 finalists vying for the American Idol crown. Local loyalty goes just so far. Bobby Bennett, the only local Denverite, was the worst one last night with his version of Copacabana. My favorites have to be grey-haired Taylor Hicks, rocker Chris Daughtry...and believe it or not...David Radford! David's swinger version of Crazy Little Thing Called Love was cool in my opinion. Unfortunately, my prediction is that Bobby and David will be going home tonight. Just Married (WB; ends at 9 PM)-2003 comedy starring Ashton Kutcher and Brittany Murphy. 9 PM: Primetime Thursday (ABC; ends at 10 PM) Watching/Recording Suggestions: At 7 PM, watch Dancing with the Stars 2; record Survivor: Panama on TiVo and American Idol 5 on VCR 1. At 8 PM, watch the conclusion of Dancing with the Stars 2. |
