2006 February Sweeps February 6 Listings (Show titles in the larger size are the shows I recommend; reruns are not listed; all times are in the Mountain Time Zone) 6 PM: Wildfire (ABC Family; ends at 7 PM)-Pablo is nervous that the arrival of a new horse in Raintree's stables could unearth the skeletons in his closet; Pete and Jean take a walk down memory lane; Ken gets wise to Isabelle's schemes; and Matt accepts a new job offer. 7 PM: Wife Swap (ABC; ends at 8 PM)-A shopaholic mom who spoils her kids and hosts in-home lingerie parties for a living trades places with a devoutly religious mom who home schools her children and expects them to carry their weight in the family. The King of Queens (CBS; ends at 7:30 PM)-Doug and his gang rent an apartment upstairs from their favorite Chinese restaurant, but when the excitement of having their own secret sanctuary wears off, the guys stop hanging out, leaving Doug all alone. Desperate not to lose their hideout, Doug takes a job as a busboy in the restaurant downstairs until Carrie discovers his secret life. Meanwhile, in order to keep her new client, Kirstie Alley, happy, Carrie is forced to consume large quantities of food in front of her as part of Kirstie's bizarre weight loss program. Surface (NBC; ends at 8 PM)-Season finale. With a tsunami approaching the coast, the residents of Wilmington find themselves under a mandatory evacuation. Among the mass exodus of people leaving for safety, Miles and his family scramble to make it off the island. Meanwhile, Laura travels to North Carolina to find Rich, who has been arrested by military police at the mysterious laboratory. As employees hurriedly vacate the building, Rich is locked up in a cell and left to die. I can't believe that Laura and Rich have not met Miles yet. Skating with Celebrities (FOX; ends at 8 PM)-The competition has everyone on edge as the four remaining celebrities and their professional figure skating partners hit the ice to impress the judges and perform required elements while trying to complete graceful routines on skates. The third pair will be eliminated. I'm still rooting for Dave Coulier and Nancy Kerrigan. One on One (UPN; ends at 7:30 PM)-When he falls for an older woman who is also his French tutor, D-Mack becomes obsessed and starts to stalk her when he thinks she may be seeing another man. Unexpectedly, she finds detention is a blast when the teacher in charge (guest star Michael Feinstein) introduces the students to the music of George Gershwin. With the music program being cut at the high school, students begin purposely landing in detention so they can discuss music. Meanwhile, The Camdens rally to help a friend of Ruthie's, who is hiding a secret, and Rose pressures Simon to pick their wedding song. Finally, Ruthie is upset when Simon informs her that Martin is attempting to care for Sandy and the baby. When Simon and Rose almost broke up last week, I cheered. When is Simon going to smarten up and kick Rose to the curb? 7:30 PM: How I Met Your Mother (CBS; ends at 8 PM)-After agreeing to take things slowly and not have sex for a month, Ted and Victoria (recurring guest star Ashley Williams) decide that they have waited long enough. With Marshall and Lily out of town for their anniversary, the timing seems perfect. However, when the two change their plans and decide to stay home, they end up hiding in the bathroom in an effort to avoid ruining the moment for Ted. Meanwhile, Robin replaces Ted as Barneys wingman for a boys night out. Okay...if neither Robin or Victoria are going to be Your Mother...than why are the Future Kids even bothering to listen to tales told by Future Ted? All of Us (UPN; ends at 8 PM)-Robert's visiting sister (guest star Tisha Campbell-Martin) spends a lot of time with Dirk, who falls for her and showers her with gifts. Then Robert discovers that she is playing his friend just for the attention and the presents. 8 PM: The Bachelor 8: Paris (ABC; ends at 10 PM)-Two-hour episode. Travis and the bachelorettes bid adieu temporarily to Paris and head back across the Atlantic for dates in the gals' hometowns. That means it's time to meet the folks. It also means that the tables are turned somewhat, and one dad gives Travis a grilling. Also: highlights of past hometown dates on The Bachelor and The Bachelorette. Two and a Half Men (CBS; ends at 8:30 PM)-Charlie and Mia (recurring guest star Emmanuelle Vaugier) decide to make love, but after the long wait, he's worried that he won't live up to her expectations. Meanwhile, Alan has his hands full with one of Charlie's former lovers. Las Vegas (NBC; ends at 9 PM)-The Montecito hosts a car show, and NASCAR NEXTEL Cup Series driver Jimmie Johnson comes to Las Vegas to act as celebrity judge. During his stay, he receives plenty of attention from the ladies, Mary and Delinda, who make it clear how much they would love to go for a ride. Meanwhile, an urban legend comes to life when Danny and Mike enter one of the hotel rooms to discover a man missing a kidney laying in a bathtub full of ice. Sam's newest whale comes with a unique problem, palmar hyperhidrosis (a.k.a. sweaty palms), and to deal with him, she must teach Ed the casino host ropes. It's funny...it's been a month since Monica sailed off the roof, yet she keeps coming back in weird ways (rumored ghost appearances, security tape thievery, etc.) When is she going away for good? 24 (FOX; ends at 9 PM)-When Agent Jack Bauer is realigned with the Presidents plan to track the looming terror threat, he navigates CTU to a new lead. While pursuing this lead, the threat intensifies when the hostiles up the stakes. Though she's initially content to overhear Scott call her his girlfriend, Alex soon finds herself unnerved by the sighing sound he makes each time he takes a drink. When Bill notices this quirk of Scott's, he tries to provoke a breakup by offering Scott several tins of salty cashews to get him to drink, and sigh, as much as possible. Though Alex decides to save the relationship by simply asking him to stop making that sound, she's driven even crazier when Scott mentions that she has a few bothersome traits as well. Half & Half (UPN; ends at 9 PM) There & Back (MTV; ends at 9 PM)-I think that this is the one where Tiffany has her baby. 9 PM: C.S.I: Miami (CBS; ends at 10 PM)-When a body is uncovered during a beach volleyball tournament, the evidence leads Horatio to Walter Resden (guest star Damian Young), who is now targeting one of his past victims...someone Horatio has sworn to protect.
