2007 February Sweeps February 8 Listings (Show titles in the larger size are the shows I recommend; reruns are not listed; all times are in the Mountain Time Zone) 2:30 PM: “Juvies” (MTV; ends at 3:30 PM)-Ryan, LaRico, and Stephen are this week's juvies. 7 PM: “Ugly Betty” (ABC; ends at 8 PM)-The masked woman's shocking announcement leaves MODE in chaos and the dysfunctional Meades at each other's throats. Meanwhile, Betty tries to keep the peace and Wilhelmina plots her next move. Betty is in for even more turmoil in her love life, as Henry asks her out while Walter tells her he's got a big surprise in store. Back at home, Hilda is miffed when Santos gets involved after Justin is sent home from school for fighting. “Survivor: Fiji” (CBS; ends at 8 PM)-Season premiere. The 14th edition of the reality series strands 19 castaways on the Fiji Islands to vie for the $1 million first-place prize. Initially, everyone lives together at a camp with plenty of supplies, but on the third day the group is split into two tribes. The team that loses the first immunity challenge must relocate to a different island with little resources. Also, the players learn that a hidden immunity idol is located at each tribal camp. “My Name is Earl” (NBC; ends at 7:30 PM)-In preparation for the trial, Joy learns that she has a half sister she could possibly use to invoke sympathy from the jury, but her half sister turns out to be her lifelong mortal enemy, Liberty Washington (guest star Tamala Jones.) Coincidentally, Liberty is also number 101 on Earl’s list..."Stole a girl’s identity." As Earl tries to right his wrong and Joy deals with the shock of having a new half sister, Liberty works to get herself into a wrestling league. As families often do, the two women deal with their differences by wrestling them out of each other. This new episode also presents a major surprise for one of the characters. “‘Til Death” (FOX; ends at 7:30 PM)-When the guys discover that Jeff never had a bachelor party, they have a boys’ night out at a local club, but when Nicole (recurring guest star Margaret Cho) tags along with Cofeld (recurring guest star Anthony Anderson), the guys’ night doesn’t turn out as they planned. Meanwhile, Joy is sick at home and Steph comes over with a special recipe to help them both feel better. “Smallville” (CW; ends at 8 PM)-After receiving a photo of herself dressing in her room, Lana realizes she has a stalker and decides to hide out at a surprising location. Meanwhile, Jimmy breaks up with Chloe because he believes she isn't truly over Clark, forcing Chloe to take a deep look at her feelings for her best friend. 7:30 PM: “The Office” (NBC; ends at 8 PM)-Phyllis regrets giving Michael an important job at her wedding after several embarrassing moments. Pam has flashbacks of her own wedding planning when she sees Phyllis's decorations. Meanwhile, Dwight is determined to catch wedding crashers. “The War at Home” (FOX; ends at 8 PM)- 8 PM: “Grey’s Anatomy” (ABC; ends at 9 PM)-The staff is trying to deal with antsy patients while dealing with a major disaster strikes a Ferryboat in Seattle. The Chief must choose a team to go out on location and save what is left of the few lives spared. “C.S.I.: Crime Scene Investigation” (CBS; ends at 9 PM)-Grissom returns from his teaching sabbatical as Keppler tries to conceal his ties to a double murder case that he and his C.S.I. colleagues are investigating. Keppler desperately wants to keep his dark past hidden from his new C.S.I. colleagues. As a result, he fails to disclose that he not only knows Frank McCarty (guest star Tony Award winner and nominee Len Cariou, who won for Sweeney Todd in 1979 and was nominated for Applause and A Little Night Music), the retired police officer who reportedly found the remains of his cop friend and a prostitute in the friend's Las Vegas hotel room, but that Frank may have had a role in the murders. “Scrubs” (NBC; ends at 8:30 PM)-Turk convinces J.D. that he needs to go to Tacoma for Kim's first ultra sound...which results in an impromptu road trip for the Sacred Heart crew. After commandeering Dr. Kelso's new RV, Eliot, Carla, Keith, Ted, and the Janitor join the father to be on his journey. Meanwhile, Dr. Cox and Jordan face some concern when her ultrasound reveals that their unborn child will need to have surgery. “The O.C.” (FOX; ends at 9 PM)-Ryan and Taylor share some special words…but did they really mean them? Meanwhile, Kaitlin decides to sabotage Frank and Julie’s relationship, until her Mom finally notices and makes a change for the better. Kirsten, for the first time, realizes what Newport society is really all about. Also, Summer encourages Seth to find something he can be passionate about. As the night comes to a close, an earthquake hits the Southland. “Supernatural” (CW; ends at 9 PM)-After receiving a frantic call from Sam, who has been missing for over a week, Dean races to his brother's side. He finds Sam covered in blood, but unable to remember anything that happened. Upon investigation, the brothers are horrified to discover a tape that shows Sam killing another hunter in cold blood, causing Sam to believe his evil side is finally taking over. “Nashville Star 5” (USA; ends at 9 PM)-Judge Randy Owen and Lance Miller perform. Also, contestants sing original tunes. 8:30 PM: “30 Rock” (NBC; ends at 9 PM)-After the entire cast binges on some questionable seafood at the craft services table, they hunker down to pull an all nighter...on Valentine's Day...and cobble a new show together. While Pete completely forgets the holiday altogether, romance may be blooming between Kenneth the Page and Cerie, who is squabbling with her Greek fiance. Liz wonders if she might have a secret admirer after she receives flowers from an anonymous suitor. Jack, fresh from the finalization of his divorce from Bianca (guest star Isabella Rossellini), wants to celebrate his new bachelorhood with Tracy, who for once wants a night alone with his wife. 9 PM: “Men in Trees” (ABC; ends at 10 PM)-When Marin can't get her construction crew to do what she wants on her run-down cabin, she meets a sexy loner named Cash (guest star Scott Elrod), a local handyman. As Buzz learns George's (guest star Orlando Jones) secret...the son he hasn't seen since the boy was eight...his attempts to be supportive fall short and threaten their family reunion. Meanwhile, Marin must decide if she should attend Lynn's baby shower, and, in order to spend time with Sam, Jane tries to establish her New York business in Elmo. “Shark” (CBS; ends at 10 PM)-Sebastian and his legal team prosecute the case of a tabloid headline-making starlet who appears to have been chased off the road to her death by overzealous paparazzi. Evidence at the crash site causes the police to theorize that hard-partying rising star Taylor Mays (guest star Stefanie Butler) may have been run off the road by a member of the paparazzi who chased her after she attempted to sneak out the back door of a hot nightclub. In addition to questioning various paparazzi suspects, Sebastian and his team also investigate whether there is any relevance to the fact that, on the night of her death, Taylor had reportedly broken up with a mystery man and gotten into a public brawl with a rival starlet. Ray Wise ("24," Good Night, and Good Luck) guest stars as attorney Lloyd Holcomb, and Joy Lauren ("Desperate Housewives") guest stars as the deceased starlet's younger sister, Krystie Mays. “E.R.” (NBC; ends at 10 PM)-Abby and Sam try and treat an obnoxious, aspiring comedian (guest star Freddy Rodriguez) with mysterious symptoms. Pratt finds himself in hot water as he gets questioned about the death of a patient. Meanwhile, Neela is thrilled when Dr. Dubenko allows her to scrub in on a kidney donor surgery. 11:30 PM: “The Sarah Silverman Program” (Comedy Central; ends at Midnight)-Sarah reaches out to a homeless man to prove she's not self-centered. Meanwhile, Brian learns karate, but fails to use it when necessary.
