2006 May Sweeps May 18 Listings

(Show titles in the larger size are the shows I recommend; reruns are not listed; all times are in the Mountain Time Zone)

7 PM:

Will & Grace Clip Show (NBC; ends at 8 PM)-Special.  The Emmy Award-winning comedy series' cast looks back at its eight seasons of outrageous storylines in this hour-long compilation of memorable scenes and all new interviews with the cast and crew.  Also featured are the series' show-stopping guest stars who will talk about their time on "Will & Grace" and give you a glimpse into why this show has been so successful.

That ‘70s Show (FOX; ends at 7:30 PM)-As the Formans prepare for their move to Florida, Kitty puts Red in charge of showing their home to prospective buyers.  Red scares them away though, so Kitty takes over the job, only to discover it’s not as easy as it looks...especially when touring the home forces her to look back at all their special family moments.

Drumline (WB; ends at 9 PM)-2002 drama starring Nick Cannon, Zoe Saldana, and Orlando Jones.

7:30 PM:

That ‘70s Show (FOX; ends at 8 PM)-Series finale.  It’s New Year’s Eve and about to be 1980 (it's about time!) when the gang gets together to celebrate and say goodbye to the decade.  Donna prepares to leave for college, while Fez and Jackie come clean about their true feelings for each other.  Meanwhile, Hyde gives Red the surprise of a lifetime, and Kelso returns home to ring in the new decade with his best friends.  Despite not being interviewed in the retrospective last week, I heard that there is a rumor that Topher Grace may make a cameo appearance.  Even without Eric and Kelso this season, the show has always been funny.  I will miss it.

8 PM:

American Inventor (ABC; ends at 9 PM)-Season finale.  After weeks of working hard, turning their ideas and inventions into finalized products, our last four inventors...Ed Hall, inventor of the Word Ace; Janusz Liberkowski, inventor of the  Spherical Safety Seat; Francisco Patino, inventor of the Double Traction Bike; and Erik Thompson, inventor of the Receiver's Training Pole...will learn who will become the next "American Inventor."  The inventor who received the most votes nationwide will be revealed, live, and will receive the one million dollar prize.  I'm rooting for Janusz.

C.S.I.: Crime Scene Investigation (CBS; ends at 9 PM)-Season finale.  The C.S.I. team holds vigil at the bedside of one of their teammates (it's Brass), who was shot in the line of duty and may not survive.  In the wake of the shooting, a C.S.I. team member faces a tough decision by holding the person's power of attorney.  Meanwhile, when evidence suggests that a small-waisted man who was decapitated by a train was really a cover up for murder, the C.S.I.s investigate the man's bizarre lifestyle of routinely wearing corsets.

Will & Grace (NBC; ends at 9 PM)-Series finale.  Will Will and Grace raise a child together and find ultimate happiness?  Will Jack find anyone that loves him as much as he loves himself?  Will Karen find true happiness with the absence of Stan?  All these questions and more will be answered as this groundbreaking series concludes eight amazing seasons.  Kevin Bacon returns again as himself.  This is another show I will miss.  I've constantly thought it was funny, and it is one of the few sitcoms to effectively use their big-name guest stars.  Even though I keep wishing that this was actually the "Karen & Jack" show, the leads have done a great job.  Say goodbye, Gracie!

The O.C. (FOX; ends at 9 PM)-Season finale.  The end of senior year is finally here, bringing the excitement of graduation and the anticipation of new lives in college and beyond...but for Seth, Ryan, Marissa, and Summer, it's also a time to look back on the amazing journey that has brought the four of them this far.  Seth must confront his recent misdeeds or deal with the wrath of Sandy...and the police.  Ryan's proud mom arrives with a surprise for him.  Marissa receives an astounding proposal that may radically change her plans.  Summer, facing the prospect of going away without Seth, can't stop crying and hugging her best friends as they say their farewells.  Amidst the speeches and toasts, nothing is ever simple in Newport.  Sandy shocks Kirsten by making a big decision after visiting his old Public Defender's office.  Kaitlin returns and moves into Julie's home, vowing to become the next Cooper to rule Harbor High.  To Taylor's joy, the "core four" turns into the "fab five."  However, although the kids may be ready to move on to bright futures, unresolved issues from their past could ruin everything.  Oh...and I have a feeling that Marissa is going to be killed...but that's a rumor.

9 PM:

Primetime Thursday (ABC; ends at 10 PM)

Without a Trace (CBS; ends at 10 PM)-Season finale.  When Alan Davis (guest star Jason Priestley, "Beverly Hills, 90210"), the former boyfriend of the missing young female former assistant district attorney Jennifer Nichols (guest star Natalie Zea), realizes that he's a suspect in her disappearance, he suddenly pummels Jack, grabs Jack's gun, and bolts out of the FBI building while firing a hail of bullets.  Before and after the shooting, Jack and the team delve into Alan's background and possible motives while also looking into the relevance of Jennifer's mysterious visit to a prisoner the night before she vanished.  Did you hear that this show is going to move to Sunday nights this fall?

E.R. (NBC; ends at 10 PM)-Season finale.  Chaos strikes in County General when shots are fired and the gunmen get more and more desperate to make it out of the hospital.  Dr. Kovac unknowingly puts himself in harms way while Abby is in the line of fire.  Meanwhile, Pratt tries to help Neela as she attends to Gallant's concerned parents (guest stars Ernie Hudson, Ghostbusters, and Sheryl Lee Ralph, "Designing Women.")

11 PM:

The Showbiz Show with David Spade (Comedy Central; ends at Midnight)-David Spade comments on "American Idol" and Paris Hilton's appearance at the E3 Video Game Conference.
