2006 May Sweeps May 7 Listings (Show titles in the larger size are the shows I recommend; reruns are not listed; all times are in the Mountain Time Zone) 6 PM: “America's Funniest Home Videos” (ABC; ends at 7 PM) “60 Minutes” (CBS; ends at 7 PM) “Dateline NBC” (NBC; ends at 7 PM) 6:30 PM: “King of the Hill” (FOX; ends at 7 PM)-200th episode. When the Hills get some liberal-minded neighbors, Hank finds himself terrorized by their uncontrollable son Caleb (guest voice Paul Butcher.) Lila (guest voice Ricki Lake) and Jim (guest voice Scott Klace) have raised their son without boundaries and now Caleb is a force in the neighborhood. It’s up to Hank and Bobby to put the neighborhood bully in his place. 7 PM: “Extreme Makeover: Home Edition” (ABC; ends at 8 PM) “Cold Case” (CBS; ends at 8 PM)-When a new witness to the 1984 shooting of a well known E.R. physician steps forward, Lilly and company reopen the case. The original suspect was a mentally ill homeless man who was convicted of the crime based on circumstantial evidence and eventually died in prison, however, a new witness comes forward with information that the well respected doctor was beloved by his family, friends and patients but secretly had a gambling addiction that he could not shake. Now, Lilly is digging deeper into the world of gambling to possibly find a killer. “The West Wing” (NBC; ends at 8 PM)-As Bartlet's administration prepares to transition in the Santos administration, CJ is faced with what to do with her future. Will is also in a position of uncertainty about what is to come. “The Simpsons” (FOX; ends at 7:30 PM)-After a spring-cleaning frenzy and inhaling too many fumes, Marge suffers from retrograde amnesia. In an effort to bring back her memory, Homer takes her around town to re-familiarize her with her surroundings. Marge still has no recollection of who Homer is and puts herself back on the singles market. Not until she realizes that Homer is truly genuine at heart will she remember who he is and why she loves him. “Charmed” (WB; ends at 8 PM) “The Surreal Life 6” (VH1; ends at 7:30 PM)-The Surreal-Lifers awake to find the living room rearranged for a group therapy session with in-house advisor, Florence Henderson as "Dr. Flo"! Can Maven face the truth about his pain? Will Andrea finally come clean with Florence when she is shown footage of herself aggressively badmouthing Flo? Can Tawny cope with any advice or criticism given to her, or is this just one more reason for her to think Florence is "a pushy, pain in the a**"? It's the moment they've all been dreading, Mrs. Brady challenges them to come clean and face their biggest fears. 7:30 PM: “Hogan Knows Best” (VH1; ends at 8 PM)-Hulk's wrestling career is winding down and it takes more than ever to stay on top, including nerve injections to reduce pain in his back and laser treatments to keep a youthful look. After a particular bloody match, the family begs Hulk to find a new way to make a living. Hulk decides to try the corporate route, doing commercials, endorsing energy drinks, and creating a new product where he can finally make peace with a lost opportunity from his past. 8 PM: “Desperate Housewives” (ABC; ends at 9 PM)-Lynette finds out how Tom has been spending company money on non-business trips and tickets for two; Tom gets fired. Gabrielle promises Xiao-Mei (recurring guest star Gwendoline Yeo) she will not let her be sent back to China. Bree and Andrew reach an impasse. Edie's private detective, Oliver Weston (guest star John Mariano), gets the goods on Karl and Susan. Betty underestimates Matthew. Susan asks Mike if he still has feelings for her. “Law & Order: Criminal Intent” (NBC; ends at 9 PM) “Family Guy” (FOX; ends at 8:30 PM)-After Joe builds a new home theater system, Peter tries to top it by building a multiplex in his backyard and discovers an Indian burial ground, but when he takes an Indian chief’s skull, the house becomes haunted and Stewie pulls a “Carol Anne” and gets sucked into the television. Unfortunately for the Griffins, getting Stewie back from the poltergeist is just the beginning. Jim J. Bullock, Adam Carolla, and Carrot Top also guest voice. “So NoTORIous” (VH1; ends at 8:30 PM)-Inspired by Janey's participation in a mentoring program, Tori decides to get a Little Sister of her own. Tori delights in the opportunity to show Kiki just how affectionate and compassionate mothering is done, and soon her street-smart, 15-year old little sister starts running roughshod all over her. 8:30 PM: “American Dad” (FOX; ends at 9 PM)-After Steve shows a lack of interest in Stan’s job, Stan replaces him with Barry (guest voice Eddie Kaye Thomas; Craig Ferguson guest voices as "Evil Barry"), Steve’s malicious friend. Barry frames Steve to eliminate him from the household, but when Steve discovers Barry’s weakness, he relies on his CIA skills to save the family. Meanwhile, Roger takes an impressive keg-stand and uses it to become a fraternity brother. Chris Klein also guest voices. 9 PM: “Grey’s Anatomy” (ABC; ends at 10 PM)-The interns deal with a family involved in a car accident, Derek lets his emotions get the best of him, and Burke and Izzie make a new suggestion to Denny. “Crossing Jordan” (NBC; ends at 10 PM)-Season finale. 12:30 AM: “Robot Chicken” (Adult Swim; ends at 12:45 AM)-Twinkie the Kid dispenses justice and lead! Popular board games from Chutes and Ladders to Hungry Hungry Hippos get turned into action-packed feature films. Meet Skeletor's dentist, Mo-Larr! Emperor Palpatine gets a collect call from Dark Vader. Mortal Kombat's Johnny Cage has a bad day on the job. An enraged Ted Turner transforms into his alter-ego, Captain Planet. 1 AM: “Minoriteam” (Adult Swim; ends at 1:15 AM)-One woman holds the key to saving summer when questionable weather forecasting becomes deadly.
