A Los Angeles man was arrested for allegedly impersonating a federal agent in a bid to get a job protecting Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie, prosecutors said. Eddie Izzard and Chevy Chase are among the comedians taking part in a new Secret Policeman's Ball in support of Amnesty International. The show,
scheduled for Oct. 14 at London's Royal Albert Hall, revives a series that drew attention to the human rights organization in the '70s and '80s.
George Clooney has joined Nobel Peace Prize winner Elie Wiesel in asking the United Nations Security Council to help stop the killings in Darfur. "Make no mistake, it is the first genocide of the 21st century. And if it continues unchecked, it will not be the last," Clooney said at an informal briefing in New York.

Beginning Monday, Oscar fans can enter an online contest to win red carpet bleacher seats at the 79th Academy Awards on Feb. 25, 2007. Jim Carrey and Steve Carell have signed on to voice characters in the upcoming CGI film version of Dr. Seuss' Horton Hears a Who, per the Hollywood Reporter.
The project marks Carrey's first foray into animation.
