Will Smith's feel-good drama The Pursuit of Happyness topped the box office with an estimated $27 million in ticket sales. Sci-fi dragon tale Eragon came in second with an estimated $12.5 million and the adaptation of the children's classic Charlotte's Web came in third with an estimated $12 million.
African-American Film Critics Association has named Dreamgirls Best Picture of 2006. The group also singled out Bill Condon for Best Director, Eddie Murphy for Best Supporting Actor, and Jennifer Hudson for Best Supporting Actress. The Departed, Idlewild, Bobby, and Inside Man also made the AAFCA's top 10.
Hilary Duff and Joel Madden have dropped their temporary restraining orders against one of their two alleged stalkers, paparazzo David Joseph Klein. The former couple maintaining their orders against Klein's roommate, Maksim Miakovsky, who remains behind bars after allegedly making criminal threats against Duff last month.

Online's Marc Malkin reported that Christina Ricci has decided to stop dressing in fur after being named to PETA's worst-dressed list and having her number-one fan site shut down by its operator in response to her fashion decisions. "For what it is worth, I have received the message loud and clear and will not be wearing fur in the future," Ricci said in a
statement to PETA.
