Atlantic Records founder Ahmet Ertegun passed away Thursday in New York as a result of a brain injury he suffered Oct. 29 when he fell backstage before a Rolling Stones concert. He was 83.

The chauffeur charged with trying to extort $2 million from Yoko Ono is cooling his heels in jail while the Manhattan D.A.'s office determines whether the cashier's checks his friends are trying to post for his $250,000 bail were legally obtained. Prosecutors have 72 hours to investigate.

Princes William and Harry have confirmed they will mark the 10th anniversary of Princess Diana's death with a pop concert at London's Wembley Stadium on July 1. Artists scheduled to perform include Elton John, Duran Duran, Joss Stone, Pharrell Williams, and Bryan Ferry. In tribute to Diana's love for theater and dance, Andrew Lloyd Webber will perform a medley of songs from his shows, and the English National Ballet will appear. Tickets to the concert sold out in minutes Wednesday, a spokeswoman for Princes William and Harry said. More tickets to the event may go on sale at a later date. Meanwhile, a new British police report has found that Princess Diana's driver was drunk at the time of the car crash that killed her and Dodi Al Fayed, and that the U.S. Secret Service was bugging her calls for an undetermined reason.

A Los Angeles Superior Court judge has dismissed three cases against Courtney Love...one for misdemeanor assault and two for drug possession...after finding she had successfully completed drug rehab. The ruling ends Love's probation more than one year early.
